Well I should consider this a compliment, whilst trying to be a bottle of wine in Sainsbury's I got asked to prove that I was 18, those of you who know me realise I am the essence of youth, but 18, 13 years too late for that.

Hey look ma i am on the web

Well, one of the better projects I did whilst at Ford Motor Company is listed on the Bertrandt website. A concept seat we developed for an interactive exhibit at the Geneva Motor Show. Looks easier than it was on the site. Ahh the days of waking at 5am and sleeping at midnight, glue not sticking in the cold of the hall etc. Fond memories indeed. You can all check it out here

Romantic Love "lasts a year'

James Kellerman

BBC News is reporting that scientists in Italy have discovered that the levels of a brain chemical associated with feelings of euphoria and dependence experienced at the start of a relationship last only a year. I don't suppose that this is particularly counter intuitive, I believe that love becomes a conscious choice after a period of time. This is not to say that it is cold and calculated, far from it, anything in which you are required to make a choice ultimately is stronger than just acceptance of the feeling . So that love becomes both a visceral connection and an intellectual choice. A powerful combination. The BBC article is here

Lindemans Bin 50 Shiraz 2005

Yes a bottle of wine, may as well write down what I am drinking more as a record for myself than to be of any use whatsoever to anyone else. Bought because it was £2.50 off at Sainsbury's making it £4.00. Smooth, fairly fruity and otherwise inoffensive, would have felt expensive at £6.50.

Tube Serendipity

James Kellerman

This is the sort of thing that just seems to happen a little too often to pure chance. My brother and I were returning form a leaving party for a friend, having consumed copious amounts of champagne, the discussion quickly turned to the meaning of life and the nature of self. As the debate turned towards Solipsism and trying to divine the fundamental incentives that drive human behavior, the gentleman standing next to us smiled and said that he thought the debate was great. A compliment I thought, as he went on to explain that he was pleased to hear that kind of debate as he is currently writing a book on the same subject. Now the tube is full of strange people and strange coincidences, but that was a little odd.

Mmmm Tea

James Kellerman

In a departure with my usual obsession with your bog standard english breakfast tea, I have stumbled across this, Twining's Green Tea Orange & Lotus Flower tea bags. This came somewhat surprisingly via an American friend of mine. Not too sweet, with a hint of orange and of course painless to make thanks to the wonder of tea bags.

I always was curious

Now this is the sort of science i like. At the box of truth they test if its possible to shoot a padlock with a variety of guns and have it burst open, the surprising answer is, not with a pistol thats for sure, not with a rifle either, but a shotgun is a whole different story. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

James Kellerman

Good film, some genuinely funny dialog, and overall very enjoyable, but, can anyone explain why I had to pay £8.30 to sit through 40 minutes of adverts before the film even started! This is getting to be a joke, I don't mind a trailer or two but repeated crappy adverts for shampoo and car insurance, I need to find a cinema somewhere that either advertises the time the movie starts or has no bloody ads.

What kind of humanist? This Kind.

You are one of life’s enjoyers, determined to get the most you can out of your brief spell on Earth. Probably what first attracted you to atheism was the prospect of liberation from the Ten Commandments, few of which are compatible with a life of pleasure. You play hard and work quite hard, have a strong sense of loyalty and a relaxed but consistent approach to your philosophy.

You can’t see the point of abstract principles and probably wouldn’t lay down your life for a concept though you might for a friend. Something of a champagne humanist, you admire George Bernard Shaw for his cheerful agnosticism and pursuit of sensual rewards and your Hollywood hero is Marlon Brando, who was beautiful, irascible and aimed for goodness in his own tortured way.

Sometimes you might be tempted to allow your own pleasures to take precedence over your ethics. But everyone is striving for that elusive balance between the good and the happy life. You’d probably open another bottle and say there’s no contest. What kind of humanist are you? Click here to find out.

The Mouse and the Mask

The best hip hop album in ages bar none. This has been on repeat on my iPod for a week now. The other 9Gb of music hasn't seen much action. Fantastic lyrics with a great laid back rhyming style underscored with some great beats.

IYAC finished

My largest site to date has just gone live. A design for a modern aesthetic beauty clinic in Singapore - www.iyac.com.sg. This project was a great challenge. Finding the right balance between professional trustworthy and aesthetic beauty was quite difficult and involved several iterations before the design theme was agreed with the client.
