I have been inspired by Chase Jarvis iPhone portfolio to take ay more photos with my iPhone and get them up on flickr. You can keep track of the iPhone set as it grows at my flickr stream or in the right hand side of the blog.
This brilliant 20 min presentation by Kevin Smith on writing a script for Superman Returns is a brilliant insight into how messed up things are in Hollywood. It also showcases Smith's great story telling skills. Watch and learn.
Be sure to watch it all the way though to the end
My friend Ross had his bike stolen a few months ago from the secure storage area at the back of his house in Bethnal Green. After several months the bike turned up and Ross recovered it. Inquiring minds want to know the full story. Ross how the hell did you find your bike and get it back?
I have been looking for somewhere to drink my whisky with a nice spherical ice cube. It has nothing to do with the aesthetic and everything to do with physics. A spherical ice "cube" has a much improved surface to volume ratio - this reduces the thermal transfer to the ice and makes it last longer. In essence it allows you to sip your whisky at your leisure without getting it all wet and tasteless. If you are very lucky you can get your whisky or fine bourbon with a spherical ice cube at 50 plates.
So this is my current desk setup. There are four computers; my MacBook pro is the day to day workhorse for email and design work. Then there are two dell Vostro 200's. One runs Vista and Vista 64 in a dual boot configuration for testing and development. The Second Vostro is running Server 203 for testing enterprise options and running a print server. the fourth machine is a legacy business desktop for testing performance on older hardware.
The whole set up is controlled via a single mouse and keyboard using the virtual keyboard and mouse software Synergy. This allows me to scroll to the edge of the monitor of my mac and then be in control of the machine to the right of it. It is not always totally seamless and to get it to work smoothly on Vista it needs to be run as an administrative user and disable the godawful UAC.
